In BMW‘s lineup, the 3-Series has always been its bread and butter around the world. With the introduction of the recent G20 LCI (facelift) last year, it was only a matter of time before our market received this model, which BMW Philippines has just announced. While not part of the brand’s planned four-EV salvo, it’s always nice to see the other models in the lineup get refreshed with the latest tech and variants.
The facelift receives new headlights and revised front and rear bumpers. This comes with the M Aerodynamic Package that also includes 18-inch M light-alloy wheels and M High Gloss Shadow Line trim.
It’s also fitted with the same 2.0-liter in-line-four engine (called the B48) mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, and power figures are mostly the same as the pre-facelift, coming in at 156hp and 250Nm.
New for the interior is the BMW Curved Display (as seen on the iX and its other recently refreshed offerings), which merges a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen in one curved sheet of glass, complete with Operating System 8 that allows for the ability to use the BMW Intelligent Voice Assistant.
Our local variant comes with niceties such as three-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an extended storage package, Park Distance Control, and a BMW Maps navigation system.
With only one variant available (318i Sport), the latest 3er retails for P3.79 million and comes with a five-year comprehensive warranty. It’s only a matter of time before BMW Philippines introduces other variants to our market, with the previously available M340i being one of them.
