Like it or not, the motoring world has long been male-dominated, and we don’t need to look far as this is highly evident in Filipino culture. That’s why it’s big news when Genevieve Tiu was selected to be part of the jury of the Women’s World Car of the Year.

Gen has been immersed in the motoring world having grown up with her family business in the aftermarket industry. Currently, she’s a writer and producer for CarGuide and is also a columnist for The Philippine Star writing “Drive and Doodles.”

The awarding body was founded in 2009 by New Zealand-based motoring journalist Sandy Myhre. Though comprised of an all-female panel, its objective isn’t to identify the best cars specifically for women, but rather to emphasize their role in the automotive world by giving them a voice.
