As we type this, many of those from Metro Manila are already heading out of the megalopolis. These travelers must already be on the road to avoid being caught in the Carmaggedon that will surely hit us again in the coming days.
Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation expects traffic along its toll roads to increase by up to 15%. Needless to say, it’s good for its operations to ensure smooth and safe travels for everyone.
Since March 31, MPTC has deployed more than 1,500 personnel. These include traffic management, toll lane management, security, and incident assistance personnel.
From this, more than 1,000 will be deployed at NLEX-SCTEX; 500 at CAVITEX, CAVITEX C5 Link, and CALAX; and 68 at CCLEX. These will monitor traffic flow and toll lanes, provide security, and attend to incidents that will happen along the expressways.
Finally, MPTC is bringing back its “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko” motorist assistance program. From April 5 to 11, additional personnel will bolster its expressway services to help and assist motorists in the event of vehicle breakdowns.
Meanwhile, the MPTC has also identified the high-volume areas.
NLEX-SCTEX
- Balintawak
- Mindanao Avenue
- Bocaue
- Tarlac
- Tipo
CAVITEX
- Kawit
- Parañaque
CALAX
- Biñan
- Santa Rosa
- Silang East
The influx of motorists is expected during Holy Wednesday to Holy Thursday, and Black Saturday to the Monday after Easter. And so, the MPTC calls on motorists to plan their trips well and avoid the rush.
Again, keep your vehicles in tip-top shape, and always stay hydrated. Have a safe and meaningful Holy Week, everyone.
