Kia unveils modernized logo with an actual bang (or flying drones)

One of the trends these days is for automakers to give their logos some sort of a makeover to reflect revised corporate goals and future aspirations. Kia is joining in on this movement with a revised badge and a new brand slogan which the company has unveiled with a literal bang.

Dropping the old and blocky oval logo that had been associated with the firm’s image of making cheap cars, the new and modernized one is definitely worthy of being something displayed on the incredible cars that the manufacturer has put out in the past few years.

According to Kia, the new logo resembles a handwritten signature. The symmetry, the rhythm and the rising elements found in the font symbolize the company’s confidence and its ambitions for the future. And its new slogan of “Movement that inspires” is also part of Kia’s commitment to transformation in the rapidly changing auto industry.

As far as big bangs go, this one is properly massive. A large fleet of drones acting as a pyrotechnics platform lit up the skies over Incheon, Korea, and broke the Guinness World Record for “most unmanned aerial vehicles launching fireworks simultaneously.”

Now that’s definitely a fitting way to start off Kia’s new year.
