Another year is finally over and it is time to reward some of the best of the year. I am happy today to announce what I have nominated as my favourites of the year, from performances, screenplay, techs and more. Despite the weird year 2020 has been, there was plenty to enjoy and celebrate in the world of films and I cannot wait any longer to announce these nominations.
Note: as with all of my wrap-up content on this site, these nominations are based on the official UK release date of a film. That means that films from the start of the year, like Parasite and 1917 are eligible, whilst films that have not yet officially released such as Promising Young Woman and Minari will not be eligible to be nominated this year. The only exception that people may question is One Night in Miami, which does release on Amazon Prime on the 15th of January but had a theatrical run in the UK from the 26th of December, therefore is eligible for these awards.
Without further ado, here are the nominations for the 2021 Film For Thought Awards.
