Do you remember the teaser photo released by Mitsubishi during its booth theme announcement for the 2023 Japan Mobility Show? The automaker has chosen to reveal more details about the concept as we get nearer to the show, alongside the other vehicles it will be exhibiting at its “adventurous booth.”
The new teaser shows off the boxy van kicking up sand. One might think it’s a new SUV, but Mitsubishi calls it an electric crossover MPV.
Based on the concept of “Borderless Adventure,” it meshes the off-road capabilities of SUVs with the “comfort and usability” of an MPV. It also sports electric 4WD, high ground clearance, large-diameter tires, and multiple drive modes to adapt to various road conditions.
It also has a small mobility vehicle called the Last 1 mile Mobility, which looks like an electric wheelchair on steroids thanks to its off-road tires and insane ground clearance.
Made in collaboration with Lifehub Inc., this buggy utilizes used batteries from electric cars as a way to help extend the useful lifespan of what would otherwise become e-waste. Mitsubishi says that this is meant to help users “go further after their vehicles reach their destination.”
It will also be displaying several production and rally cars, such as the all-new Triton and the Delica D:5, alongside its rally-bred counterparts.
There will be two specially designed vehicles: an Outlander PHEV with NERV graphics on the side (an Evangelion collaboration), and a Delica Mini with a Coleman wrap.
Their standard counterparts will also be on display, together with the Eclipse Cross PHEV and the eK X EV.
