After launching the Emira earlier this year, Lotus Philippines has been preparing to make room for the future of the British sports car company, now under the ownership of Geely. The marque’s first mass-market electric model has been launched at the 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit.

In its base and S form, the Eletre houses a 109kWh lithium-ion battery that produces 604hp and 710Nm with two motors. The variant that was revealed at the SMX Convention Center Manila was the Eletre R, the fastest of the bunch, housing the same dual-motor setup but with a huge power bump to 905hp and 985Nm.

As fast as both figures are, the biggest elephant in the room is the 2,980kg to 3,150kg weight range, owing to its large battery and two extra seats and doors. Aiming to combine luxury and performance in one package, the Eletre has Nappa-leather bucket-like seats with 20-way power adjustability at the front.

All four passengers are treated to the 23-speaker KEF sound system and the 15.1-inch infotainment system that utilizes Unreal Engine 5, a 3D-rendering engine developed by Epic Games, in configuring the vehicle’s settings with a high-quality 3D model of the hyper SUV.

The Eletre is also the first semi-autonomous vehicle in Lotus’s history. Taking advantage of the Nvidia Orin self-driving system, various sensors, radars and cameras envelop the SUV for a comfortable, worry-free ride in the driver’s seat.

The top-spec Eletre R will be priced at P10,499,000, with an introductory discount price of P9,999,000 for a limited time, while the base and S models are still in discussions. Nevertheless, all three variants will soon come with a five-year/150,000km warranty and eight-year/200,000km battery warranty.
