Few people would claim that the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS is a slow car, but some think it could be even faster. These people work at companies like Manthey Racing, and they have been so convincing in their quest for more speed that Porsche itself agrees with them.

As a result, you can now order a Manthey Racing track kit for your already super-fast 718. Tweaks to chassis, brakes, and aerodynamics promise to shave precious seconds off your Nordschleife or any other track time while keeping the machine road-legal.

Manthey has a reputation for being total experts when it comes to racing around the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the new kit is shaving precious seconds off the standard GT4 RS lap time. An exact 6.179 seconds, to be precise.

Priced at €42,504 (P2.58 million) in Germany (plus installation), that means every second saved around the famous track costs you €6,878 (or roughly P418,000). You can spend even more as certain partssuch as new carbon-fiber louvres and race-spec brake padsaren’t included in the base price.

What you get for your money is a changed aero setup that includes a different carbon-fiber front diffuser, a four-stage adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing complete with a gurney flap that is 85mm wider than the original and has been contoured better to the car’s shape, aerodiscs on the rear wheels, and reinforced points around the engine cover to prevent all that additional downforce from pushing the lid through the expensive carbon-fiber bodywork.

There are even little grille inserts for the side air intakes designed to catch debris and tire rubber abrasions.

Porsche and Manthey worked together to fit this beast with a newly developed inverted setup coil-over suspension that can be adjusted for track use. Hobby racers will be able to adjust the spring struts and fiddle with parameters such as compression and rebound without having to carry a toolkit.

The front spring rates have been increased by 20%, and new steel brake lines have also been fitted. The new suspension setup makes the car stick to the black stuff even harder, and the new aero can add up to 80kg of downforce at speeds of 200km/h.

As the changes are relatively subtle, new illuminated door guards featuring the Manthey logo are available so anyone getting in and out of the car knows exactly what it is. Bigger Manthey logos for the doors are also available as options, as are towing loops for those moments when the pilot runs out of talent.

The kit is already listed on the Philippine country version of the Porsche equipment website, so if you have a 718 GT4 RS and a yet-to-be-confirmed amount of pesos burning a hole in your pocket, then head right this way, please.
