Bermaz Auto Philippines—or Mazda Philippines—has just welcomed its 10th batch of scholars who will be studying at MFI Polytechnic Institute.

Under the BAP Mazda-MFI Automotive Technology Scholarship Program, 10 individuals will be taking a two-year course accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to prepare them for working in the motoring industry as technicians. Aside from learning the skills and know-how, the program also aims to develop their communication skills and work ethic.

BAP believes that education is the best gift that can be given to underprivileged youth as it can make a difference in relieving them of poverty. Aside from working in Mazda’s dealer network, graduates of the program may also find employment opportunities in BAP itself.

Since 2014, the program has produced 170 graduates with three of them employed by BAP now, according to senior manager for technical and parts operations Oliver Buan.
