Harley-Davidson makes some of the most desirable cruisers in the market today, thanks to their timeless styling, effortless torque, and distinctly American soul. To make them even more lust-worthy, the Bar and Shield brand has just announced the “Fast Johnnie” series, an addition to its Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection.
A limited-production run only, the Fast Johnnie series features Celestial Blue paint with white racing stripes in homage to high-performance muscle cars of the ’60s and the ’70s.
The Fast Johnnie character is inspired by the story of a piglet named Johnnie adopted in 1920 by H-D racer and “Wrecking Crew” member Ray Weishaar, which became a team mascot. The piglet would often be perched on the fuel tank for a post-race victory lap and is said to be the origin of the “Hog” moniker that’s often referred to as a Harley-Davidson.
Today, the Fast Johnnie character is applied to the left side of the fuel tank, which also appears on the Screamin’ Eagle factory team bikes in the MotoAmerica King of the Baggers Series.
“The striping graphic effect is a powerful signal to the generation that came of age during this era, and is still impactful today,” said Harley-Davidson design vice president and creative director Brad Richards. “The Celestial Blue base color selected for Fast Johnnie recalls a popular tone from the muscle car era. For the graphic striping, we created a custom white color formulated to authentically reflect the era, executed in a classic thin-wide-thin pattern on the sides and the top of the motorcycle bodywork. The look is a nod to pure Americana.”
“Harley-Davidson” script is placed on the tank and the front fender, replacing one of the thin stripe elements. Stripes are also applied on the front and rear fenders, the fuel tank top and side, the front of the fairing, the side covers, and the saddlebags. The rear fender gets an “Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection” logo.
Bikes that get the Fast Johnnie treatment are the Low Rider ST, the Street Glide ST, and the Road Glide ST. Only 2,000 units of each model will be produced.
Color-matched King Tour-Pak luggage carrier, Chopped Tour-Pak luggage carrier, and saddlebag speaker lids are also fitted to the Street Glide ST and the Road Glide ST.
We reached out to Harley-Davidson of Manila about availability, and yes, Philippine-based customers can definitely order any one (or all three) of the Fast Johnnie series on a first-come, first-served basis.
