The Harley-Davidson Nightster arrives on PH shores

Harley-Davidson‘s Revolution Max platform is a new Hog breed, if you will. A defying of tradition to bring the Milwaukee brand into the present, and the latest addition to this modern family is the Nightster.

If the Sportster S is anything to go by, this one should be a hoot and a half, too. PHOTO FROM HARLEY-DAVIDSON

Sitting below the S within the Sportster lineup, prices start at P950,000, and it features a smaller 975cc version of the liquid-cooled Revolution Max V-twin capable of 90hp and 95Nm. We loved the torquey power delivery of the Sportster S, and this should not be any different.

Though the bike is positioned as the entry-level Sportster, it does not skimp on rider aids and electronic gadgets. It comes with ABS, traction control, and a DSCS (Drag-Torque Slip Control System) that keeps the rear wheel from locking and skidding during sudden deceleration or downshifts. Riding modes (Rain, Road, and Sport as seen on the Sportster S and the Pan America) also make an appearance on this machine.

In the looks department, the Nightster takes a more traditional approach as compared to the Sportster S’s comparatively radical design. It retains classic styling cues from the shield-and-bar brand such as the headlight cowl and the round intake that sits in the middle of the V. The result is a motorcycle that oozes with traditional Harley-Davidson panache.

Harley-Davidson of Manila’s order book is now officially open to take reservations for the Nightster. Visit the brand’s open house this weekend (July 16) to see this bike in the metal.
