The Mercedes-AMG F1 team now has an IWC watch

Fans of the Mercedes-AMG F1 team will know that IWC has been one of the team’s longtime sponsors. You see the brand plastered on the car, the gloves, and the overalls.

But you may have noticed that the watches that even their drivers wear seem to be a bit conservative, following the subdued hues of their Big Pilot series.

That all changes today with the introduction of an official team watch, aptly named the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Edition “Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team,” which is one handful of a name.

It features the same general design as the other IWC pilot’s watches, so it’s a familiar affair with the iconic big-numbered look with pushers and three sub-dials.

The 41mm titanium case frames a black dial (protected by a sapphire crystal) with the Petronas green color accenting the indices, the hands, and the day-date window. You’ll also find it adorn the see-through caseback that shows off the Calibre 69385 automatic chronograph movement, which should be good for 46 hours of power reserve.

It comes with a choice of two 20mm straps that utilize a quick-release system—a black embossed calfskin strap and a rubber strap decked out in the Petronas green color.

Thankfully, this watch isn't a limited-edition release. PHOTO FROM IWC

Introduced at the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, the watch was on the wrists of the entire Mercedes-AMG F1 team within the paddocks. But worry not, as you can purchase it yourself (exclusively at IWC’s website) for a cool €8,650 (P478,000). It’s a perfect piece of memorabilia for the deep-pocketed supporter.
