Fans of the American marque Jeep knows the company has a storied history in building some of the quirkiest and most celebrated off-roaders. With a lot of brands pushing toward electrification, it was only a matter of time before it, too, had to begin the transition.
We’ve seen the company offer plug-in hybrid versions of the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee, which is definitely better than nothing. But for those pining for a fully electric offering, your wait may soon be over.
During Stellantis’s “Dare Forward 2030” strategic plan presentation, CEO Carlos Tavares showed off two images of Jeep’s first-ever full battery-electric SUV. This is the next step toward the brand’s full electrification of its portfolio.
Details are light about this black-and-yellow crossover, other than it will be launched early next year. This future EV looks extremely similar to the Jeep Renegade in both styling cues and proportions, so expect it to ride on the STLA Small platform, which brings more than just a modular electric-vehicle platform to the table.
