If a track-only car is a little too extreme, but you still want to celebrate the 55th anniversary of AMG, consider looking at the Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55, an exclusive special model from the brand’s anniversary celebrations.
Unlike the other special model, this G63 AMG has no special performance upgrades whatsoever, so the 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine (with a power output of 577hp and 850Nm) and the nine-speed automatic transmission are untouched. To be frank, it’s simply a special appearance package that isn’t a limited edition at all.
There are two finishes to choose from: Obsidian Black Metallic and G Manufaktur Opalite White Bright, with a special decal on the sides of the car featuring the AMG rhombus.
Other than that, there are the 22-inch forged AMG wheels and the AMG Night Package I and II (which blacks out exterior elements such as the brightwork, the door handles, and the mirrors). Then there’s the silver fuel filler cap with AMG lettering to, er, cap the exterior changes.
The interior receives slightly more changes. The interior is draped in black and red Nappa leather. There are matte-carbon accents, “Edition 55” and “55 AMG” inscriptions on the steering wheel, and velour floor mats with red contrast stitching.
Finally, there are stainless-steel door sill trims with red illuminated AMG lettering. It also comes with a customized AMG indoor car cover.
You can order this anniversary model from now until October 2022, and it’s an additional €17,850 (P1,020,000) on top of the price of a G63. If you’re not satisfied with the two models unveiled, fear not as there will be “more surprises to follow in the coming months.”
