If you are looking for an economical daily rider that is also good enough for touring, Honda Philippines has a tasty option for you in the CB500F. The naked roadster retails for just P354,000, and that would get you Honda’s tried and tested 471cc parallel twin motor rated at 47hp at 8,500rpm and 43.2Nm at 6,500rpm.
It also gets a 41mm Showa USD fork with 4.3 inches of travel, 296mm dual front disc brakes, and four piston Nissin calipers with ABS. A slipper clutch further eases the operation of the six-speed transmission, while an Emergency Stop Signal feature automatically flashes the hazard lamps if you slam on the brakes. The Pro-Link rear suspension has 4.7 inches of travel and nine clicks of preload adjustability. A 789mm seat height makes it accessible for even petite riders, and curb weight is a reasonable 185kg. With Honda’s claimed 28.6km/L fuel efficiency and its 17L tank, you are bound to get some decent range between fill-ups.
While the bike slots into the entry-level category of Honda’s big-bike lineup, it still gets some much-appreciated features like a negative-display LCD dash panel, LED lighting, and a padded stepped seat. Two colors are available: Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Grand Prix Red.
The CB500F is now available at all flagship stores, 3S dealerships, and multibrand shops nationwide.
