Lexus vehicles offer the best from Toyota with exciting designs, luxurious interiors, and performance and ride comfort worthy of the premium they command over mainstream cars. But there’s one thing that the brand lacked for its Philippine customers: a mobile app.
Following in the footsteps of Toyota Motor Philippines which launched a smartphone app a few months back, the Japanese luxury marque also has released its own application called myLexus.
In a nutshell, the app functions similarly to the myToyota software. Once your vehicle is enrolled, you’ll be able to schedule repairs and be notified of your maintenance timeline. You can also check its repair status, service history, and warranty coverage.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking to buy (or browse) through the brand’s catalog, you can head on to the “Showroom” tab. Here, you can read up and explore the many different models on offer. There, you’ll be able to build the vehicle to your liking, compare it to the other Lexus products, view the brochure, and book a test drive from the app. Once ready, you’ll be able to calculate your payments.
Other functions include viewing certified used vehicles, going on a virtual 360° tour of select models, calling for emergency roadside assistance, reading up about Lexus, and receiving notifications about special offers, promotions, events and product launches.
From a user standpoint, it feels like a sleek reskin of the myToyota app. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing, since the application works relatively well for what it offers. Just like Toyota’s software, some of the features link directly to the Lexus website.
It doesn’t seem to have the same options to select accessories and to add a vehicle to the virtual cart. And because I can’t get a Lexus car to magically appear in my garage, I wasn’t able to test the “My Vehicles” section. But expect it to function similarly as the myToyota app.
Like with most smartphone apps, more features will be added and bugs will be fixed in the future. The myLexus app is in line with the hospitality the brand offers by allowing customers to connect with it wherever they may be. If you ask us, more automakers in the Philippines should follow suit as apps seem to be the future of sales and after-sales services.
You can download the myLexus app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
