A few weeks ago, Volkswagen Philippines announced that it was releasing the Multivan Kombi van in our market. No specs or features were provided—we only knew that this was not the all-new T7 version of the global Multivan. Well, another press release has been sent by the distributor, this time with the basic information that interested buyers have been wanting to know.
The vehicle is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine rated at 148hp (150ps) and 340Nm. This powerplant is mated to a seven-speed Direct Shift Gearbox with Tiptronic function and “coasting feature.”
Other details revealed are as follows:
The Multivan Kombi also has convenience and safety features that will be much appreciated by its owner. It offers dual power side doors for ease of entry and exit, while its power tailgate allows you to open and close the rear hatch doors conveniently, so you can do more important tasks at hand.
Inside, the luxurious Nappa leather interior is complemented by ultra-comfortable captain seats in the front and second rows, the latter of which can swivel for that instant face-to-face meeting, while the third row can still comfortably seat three people and allow their seats to recline and slide. Speaking of meetings on the go, a multifunction folding table is available and can be positioned in between the second and third rows, so important group decisions are made even before arriving at the destination.
As we said last month, there are already actual units of the vehicle in the country. There are three available colors: Reflex Silver, Black Pearlescent and two-tone Reflex Silver/Starlight Blue. If you have the patience, you may request “other color variants by special order.”
The price has been pegged at P3,650,000. But the press release is quick to point out that this is an “indicative price” only. Which may or may not mean that the figure could be adjusted in the coming days.
If you need the Volkswagen Multivan Kombi in your life, you may reserve a unit now and treat the whole family to many memorable road trips.
