This restored Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman is one of a kind

The Mercedes-Benz 600 is one of the brand’s most iconic models. This luxury limo had a production run that lasted almost two decades and was a favorite among rock stars and psychopaths dictators. It also appeared in several TV shows and even in James Bond movies. Car collectors love this vehicle. And getting one right now in mint condition has become extremely difficult, if not impossible. But if you really want a 600, we think you’re going to like what we’ve found.

The Mercedes 600 you see here is a 1975 model being sold by German classic-car specialist Mechatronik. This particular vehicle is the rare long-wheelbase version called the Pullman, and was given an OEM-quality restoration by Mercedes-Benz Classic in 2007. The car has the original 6.3-liter V8 good for 247hp and 503Nm (and paired with an automatic transmission). Top speed is 205km/h, while its 0-100km/h time is 10 seconds. These numbers may seem underwhelming today, but back then the 600’s performance was considered outstanding.

The restoration work done on this Pullman is quite unique. The customer had requested the installation of some of the features found on Maybach models at the time. For example, there is a panoramic sunroof and a frosted glass divider between the driver and the passenger compartment. If you need to talk to your chauffeur, there is an intercom. The custom Alpine infotainment system can receive analog and digital TV signals.

Thankfully, the M100 V8 engine was left intact. This one has only 1,200km under its belt. PHOTO FROM MECHATRONIK

While lounging on leather seats that face each other, passengers have access to a wine chiller, champagne flutes, and folding tables. Those allergic to alcohol can simply enjoy a movie on the built-in DVD player or admire the Swarovski diamonds embedded in the door sills. The list of goodies just goes on and on, and will surely please even the most discriminating car nuts.

But all of this comes at a price, though. This one-of-a-kind Pullman is listed for sale at a whopping €2,320,500 (P138 million). If you do find some spare cash hiding under your couch, would you buy this unique Mercedes 600?
