If you think the Ford Ranger Raptor and F-150 Raptor are the ultimate pickup trucks, think again. Shelby American—the company responsible for souping up some of the Blue Oval’s sports cars—has turned the big F-250 Super Duty into a truck mean enough to scare anything with a Raptor sticker.
Dubbing this the F-250 Super Baja, the tuning company heavily modified the truck’s looks and suspension system to make it the baddest pickup you’ll ever find. For starters, the front and rear bumpers are replaced with powder-coated steel ones featuring tow points and air vents. There is no shortage of lighting thanks to a 40-inch LED light bar and a pair of 11.75-inch driving lights at the front, plus another set of the latter at the back.
Under the painted fender overriders are 18-inch custom wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KM3 rubber. The Super Baja also rides higher with a custom BDS lift system and front radius arms. Absorbing the bumps are Fox coil-overs and steering stabilizers. Rounding out the exterior upgrades is a Super Baja bed-mounted rack with provisions for two spare tires.
Inside, the truck features a rather sleek interior adorned with faux carbon-fiber accents and Shelby badging. The seats are wrapped in full leather, while the floors have embroidered mats. The billet racing pedals will want to make your feet play around with the beast of an engine under the vented hood.
Propelled by the same engine as the regular F-250, the Super Baja has a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbodiesel that’s good for 475hp and a mind-blowing 1,424Nm. The latter is more than any Raptor pickup can manage, and gives this Shelby truck a best-in-class towing capacity of 11,000kg. The good thing about a stock engine is that Ford’s own three-year (or 36,000-mile) powertrain warranty is retained.
Only 250 Super Baja units will be made, with prices starting at $125,805 (P6.1 million). And for that amount of money, can anything be more badass than this Shelby-badged rig?
