When Nissan debuted the Terra back in 2018, it leveled up the game as far as the pickup-based SUV segment was concerned. Its fancy Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite of electronic aids practically made it extremely desirable for Filipinos looking for a feature-packed family vehicle. But with the Terra’s competition catching up in more ways than one, Nissan is giving it some new tricks up its sleeve.
Black seems to be the new chrome as the refreshed range-topping VL variant gets gloss-black exterior trim in lieu of the shiny stuff. Door handles, side mirrors, bumper accents, radiator-grille surrounds, and the stepboard all get the murdered-out treatment in a bid to make the Terra’s demeanor look a little sportier. Rounding out the appearance package are the 18-inch alloy wheels, which are now (unsurprisingly) painted black.
All other features that make the Terra a family-friendly, long-distance cruiser remain. The eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Seats are trimmed in luxurious two-tone leather. The trusty 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine has plenty of muscle with 187hp and 450Nm.
Even with all these upgrades, the Terra VL’s starting prices remain unchanged at P1,984,000 and P2,211,000 for two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions, respectively. The youthful makeover should win this vehicle an even larger legion of fans.
