Academy Awards 2021: Oscar Predictions (January 4th 2021)

Well, hasn’t a lot happened since my last Oscar predictions? With the release (in the US mostly) of films such as Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal, and Soul, we are starting to get into the films with general positive consensus. We still have a few late bloomers to go, but now a majority of the contenders have been seen.

With the quick developments of critic awards, upcoming nominations for the first few major award shows, and shortlist nominations to be revealed, I am going to do these predictions every two weeks, instead of every month. I am also starting to add the Shorts category in, but only what I currently predict will win until we have a better grasp at what will be on the shortlist. Alongside the shorts, I am also going to italicise what I currently predict to win the category based on my nominations.
